Course Description:
ECHO 8 Summer Adventure Learning
ECHO 8 is offering a week-long summer course August 11-15 focusing on fitness, health, and establishing an active lifestyle. As an alternative to a traditional learning environment, students will learn through hikes, team-building and leadership exercises, ropes course challenges, and other outdoor activities. The week long course curriculum will emphasize basic learning in Exercise Science, First Aid, Nutrition, & Hard Skills for the Outdoors. The course will also include an environmental service project. Course Details:
Date: August 11-15
Time: Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm
Where: Wheeler Histioric Farm - 6331 South 900 East in Murray. (Southeast parking lot, by pavilion). Transportation to designated learning sites will be provided.
Ages: Depending on how many sign up, participants will be separated into the following age groups: 8-11, 11-14, 14-17 (If you have a child younger than 8 who has the ability to hike 2-4 miles, an acception can be made. Please call for approval.)
Price: $399 for each course. Registration fee includes a nutritious lunch and snacks, t-shirt, swag bag, motivational prizes, and rewards. Participants will also be provided with the rental of a heart-rate monitor for use during the course.
Discounts are available for multiple registrants within the same household, referrals, and multiple course registrations. Please contact Jared Ogden at 801-664-8926 for discount information, or additional information and questions.
